The 3rd NY Regiment is a nonprofit living history organization. Our members are a diverse group united by a common interest in American history, specifically the War of American Independence. The times and events we recreate begin in 1775 and continue through to the end of hostilities in 1783.

Through eight years of war, the population of Long Island suffered untold hardship. It is the service, lives and history of these men and women which we pay homage to through our activities and interaction with the public. 

 

Our members reproduce the daily routine of Revolutionary War soldiers, wives, families and camp followers. We dress in period clothing and drill with reproduction firelocks just as in 1775.
